Freakin hell. Sorry. Just SLIGHTLY UPSET with my family members right now. I don't get anything from my cousins when they go overseas, and I don't feel OBLIGED to get them anything cause we're not that close anyway so why does my Mom and aunt pester ME whenever I travel?! Why the hell would FAMILY members be more concerned about what YOU got them from your BACKPACKING (Which also means LUGGING SHIT AROUND TO DIFF COUNTRIES) trip than the fact that you practically survived a month in a foreign continent with limited resources?! Thanks a lot guys. I'm back home safe and sound to listen to your petty whinings.
And you guys wonder why you don't get gifts. Sheesh.
I mean yes, I'm grateful for you "sponsoring" my trip and lending me over/under sized winter clothing, but gifts aren't really gifts unless they're GIVEN in FREE WILL.
So my family thinks products, and yet the strange thing is, my friends have been the only ones to send Welcome back greetings when I touched back down to God's green Earth. No one went "What'd you get me? Nothing?" And mutter about how selfish I get. Oh the IRONY!
So it's true then? Family in the 21st century is made up of friends not relatives?
I'd like to think so. If that were true, then Yuqi, Vinod, Christopher, you guys are the brothers that do not exist in my "family". And Jessie, Winona, Amanda A, Amanda, Elaine, Praise, Sya, Simin and a whole heck load of other people will be in my sisterhood of travelling pants.
My Brain and movies will be my parental figures.
