You know in cartoons, books, movies from the past of the future, you always see flying cars and steel buildings and glass domes and stuff. We're talking like 1930s. Right NOW we're still thinking of a future of flying cars and glossy architecture, despite existing 70 years after the visions.
We still don't have the flying cars and technology that we were supposed to have by 2001. Heck our cars are still diesel fuelled. No change.
So what would happen when we finally obtain our aero-automobiles?
What will the future look like to our descendants?
All this while we've kept the same vision, and it's not as if human development isn't moving forward, yet we still share the same outlook as our great-grandparents.
Which kinda begs the question: Are we placing our efforts on the right areas? Our weapons have advanced, our worktools have advanced. But the people of the present are not the healthy relaxed individuals in those films, but we're more resentful and bitter really.
Heck we developed computers and modern day conveniences to make our lives easier and more efficient, leaving us more time to chill out. But they've ended up backfiring on us, and our workload grows steadily every minute. In fact, we have less time for leisure than before!

Something's not quite right in the equation here.
